Who Are We?
This research was conducted by 4 undergraduate students; 3 anthropologists and 1 historian, to fulfill the requirements for an archaeology course at the University of Texas at Arlington, focused on sustainability and collapse. We chose to research the collapse of the Maya lowlands that occurred around 800 - 1000 AD, and focused on the many factors that could have influenced this mass depopulation. Through this website, we hope to educate those that are interested in what happened to the Ancient Maya, and what could have caused the large amounts of change within the once great society.
